Know that perfectionism is the enemy of execution. I’m a big fan that you can get everything that you want out of this life, in a easy way if you drop the idea of perfectionist.
Your mind is not designed to make successful, or even happy. That’s the truth but it’s a powerful idea, and distinction to live by.
Because that will help me to be in a state where I’m always careful, and alert about the stories, excuses that my mind, most of the time is creating for us for protections reasons.
Find the perfection in every moment instead of trying to make every moment perfect. – Donnalynn Civello
The first priority of your mind’s list is this: PROTECTION, AND SURVIVAL. You need to nail that your mind, just at least will get clarity about why you’re having those unwanted thoughts, and anxious feelings whenever you want to do something new.
Before we dive in my one secret to overcome perfectionism, let’s talk about the reasons why most of us tend to be perfectionist.
The reasons of Being a Perfectionist
Fear of the unknown: What if it doesn’t work? What if I fail?
Those question pop up in any individual’s mind, whenever he thinks about doing something new.
Fear will always be here, the reason I said this because most people tend unconsciously waiting to disappear, which it’s something will never happen.
The mindset plays a major component here.
The filters that with you sort through the scary thoughts needs to be empowering.
One thing that I counterbalance this type of fear is reminding myself with feeling of regret that I would feel if I don’t take the moves.
Fear of judgement: That’s the biggest poison that robing people from achieving others.
Fu*k other people’s opinion. I get a little compulsive a bit, that’s what was holding me back for a long time, and I’m sure that’s stopping many souls others.
There are many, but those 2 elements are the most common that are making people a freak of perfectionism.

My number one secret to overcome perfectionism
You may be wondering from the beginning of this post, what’s this one secret that will help me to overcome perfectionism.
First of all, I want to make things clear…
A secret doesn’t mean a quick fix, or a loophole, I’m totally against this thinking.
The healthy way of looking at things is what’s the piece of practical information that I was ignoring, that will bring me results, and knowing that it’s a process involved to get it.
I’ve been in this path of self-help for about 3 years, and I was postponing starting my YouTube channel for months, and you know why?
I was waiting for my English to get perfect. It was a massive wait of time.
Not only that was the problem, but I noticed the more I wait, the more this pain, and fear kept grading at me.
The Backward Law To Overcome Perfectionism
The secret is mindset-based thinking. I really believe in a law called “The backward law”.
What this law says is the more you try to push yourself to get something, or to be something, the more remind yourself that you don’t have it. It’s just a psychological trick.
This what I did. To loosen things up, I’m going to see that just as an experience. No emotional attachment, just trust and focus on the process.
Before you know what, I was dumbfounded.
Don’t aim for perfection. Aim for ‘better than yesterday’.” ―
Right now, because of this distinction, I’m able to be at ease in front of the camera, I’m able to write easily those words, but more importantly the fear, and doubts melt away.
It’s a fascinating dynamic…
That’s my secret to overcome perfectionism.
Stop being so attached to the outcome, be opened to new experiences, and believe that there’s no such thing than failure. There’s only feedback.
